We need YOU to help keep Newport beaches beautiful! Please join us in helping Save the Bay on Saturday, April 16th to clean up Easton’s Beach at 175 Memorial Blvd in Newport. What better way to celebrate Earth Day than to clean up with Save the Bay and Harpoon!? We will be meeting at Easton’s Beach at 11:30 AM and will pick up trash and debris off the beach. Afterwards, we will head out for a pint of Harpoon on us to cheers to being one step closer to a clean and healthy earth!

Save the Bay protects, restores and improves the ecological health of the Narragansett Bay region, including its watershed and adjacent coastal waters, through an ecosystem-based approach to environmental action; defends the right of the public to use and enjoy the Bay and its surrounding waters; and fosters an ethic of environmental stewardship among people who live in or visit the Narragansett Bay region.

In 2010 1,035 volunteers from around the watershed participated in 30 community cleanups and collected 13,926 pounds of trash from our coastline, waterways, parks and neighborhoods.

Volunteers should be able to do some lifting and bending. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Bring your own sun/bug protection and a water bottle.
