Latest News: Nov. 16, 2006 Due to overwhelming response in the last day, we are happy to announce that we have completely filled up all the volunteer spots for each city! Thanks to all the folks who volunteered. If you still want to participate in Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer, you still can. Help us brighten the holidays of others through the Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer Gift Drive. On Saturday, December 2nd, we will be sending Harpoon Helpers to various locations throughout Boston (shelters, soup kitchens, play spaces, etc.) and this year, we will also be helping spread holiday cheer in cities all over New England, including Portland, ME, Worcester, MA, Providence, RI, Hartford, CT, Manchester, NH, and Windsor, VT/Lebanon, NH. Harpoon Helps has located some places that could really use some holiday festiveness. Last year, the volunteer turnout exceeded our expectations, with over 200 Harpoon Helpers volunteers helping us decorate. Nearly 250 people! Because of the high number, we were able to decorate 21 locations throughout Boston. We'd like to surpass that number this year. New this year: Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer Gift Drive We want to be able to leave a little something under the trees for the men, women, and children that live in the shelters we decorate for Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer. So this year we’re starting the Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer Gift Drive. We’ve received holiday wish lists from our contacts at all of the decorating locations, and we’re asking you to help us fulfill the lists.
